The GPS receiver conveniently connects to your PDA through the Compact Flash ram slot. An advantage of getting a GPS card for your PDA is that they are small and compact - no external antenna or connecting cables is required.

The GPS receiver can be used with many popular PDAs including iPAQ, Jornada, Casiopeia, Toshiba, and Sharp's Linux based Zaurus. Some PDAs come bundled with map software, otherwise you need to purchase PDA map software separately.

Some PDAs come with a GPS system built in. An example is the Garmin iQue 3200. As the GPS is built in you don't have to carry any other separate items. This type of PDA would be recommended if you envisage using the GPS function frequently.
