It is normal for machines to show errors, to suddenly show booting error and not function for days. For regular PC users these are common computer errors that they face during the course of their work. While using a computer you would have noticed that the time it takes for a computer to get fixed is longer than the time taken by the computer to fail! Sometimes the PC user is so bewildered with the increase in the frequency of problems that he/she just doesn’t know what to do with their computer next? Whether to call the technician or solve the problem on their own? Any problem can be solved by the user provided they have sufficient knowledge and are aware of the different roles of the components in the functioning of the system. Then the repairs can be fixed by the user. Otherwise it is best to take the help of a technician.

Like we all know computer problems can be separated into hardware and software. Hardware problems can result in beep codes where nothing shows on the screen whereas software problems show themselves on the screen once when windows boot. When nothing is visible on the screen the state is termed as the Blue Screen of Death. If you face any kind of troubleshooting problem, then stop and think whatever you have added or deleted from the computer in the recent past. Then apply the following procedures to see if the computer is functioning properly or not.

First of all write down the syntax error message that is shown on the screen. Write the syntax error correctly as it must be exact for the technician in order to crack the problem. If you see any kind of smoke coming out from any part of the computer then unplug the machine as fast as you can. In case you hear any kind of beep notes then make a note of how many you hear and whether they are short beep or long beep sounds. Another thing to notice is if there is any power? As in do you hear the fan spinning inside or the hard drive churning fast?

During this procedure of checking, if it says No Operating System found, then see if you can tap the setup key and confirm if the hard drive is showing under the primary master. Also make sure that there are no disks or CDs in the drives. Doing the above check procedure will help you determine properly if the problem is a hardware or a software problem. This will help you in doing a proper diagnosis of the error and you would be able to fix it correctly.

Remember to not lose your patience while doing this check list. That is because some of your methods may not work. Computer problems require little bit of logic to solve the defect. If not, you have technicians dying to do it for you. After all any kind of repair would increase their revenue!
